Question #1: How do you become a member of the Phoenix Sorority?

    A: Any female 14 years of age and up has to apply and complete all requirements of the 6 to 8 months Youth Development and Leadership Training process.  Applications will be available online during our intake time.  During this time, one can obtain an application and will be contacted for an interview.  For more information, please visit the Membership page.

Question #2: If you become a member of the Phoenix Sorority, can you still be part of a Greek Sorority?

    A: Yes you can.  The Phoenix Sorority is a community based organization.  It does not hold membership with the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. or the Panhellenic Conference, Inc.

Question #3: How long is the process to become a member?

    A: Our Youth Development and Leadership Training process is approximately 6 to 8 months.

Question #4: Where is the Phoenix Sorority located?

    A: The Phoenix Sorority is based out of Minisink Townhouse in Harlem.  For all contact information, please visit the Contact Us page.

Question #5: What type of community service does the organization participate in?

    A: Our members volunteer their services yearly at the Breast Cancer and AIDS Walks and are involved with the Amachi mentoring program based out of Minisink Townhouse for children with one or more incarcerated parent.  We also organize workshops and seminars for the community with topics such as Finance, Health & Wellness, and Education.

Question #6: Is there a cost to join, and if so, how much?

    A: Like most other organizations, there are dues.  The cost may vary yearly.

Question #7: How many members does the Phoenix Sorority currently have?

    A: We currently have over 200 members in the organization.

Question #8: Is hazing involved?

    A: Absolutely not.  Phoenix does not consent to, condone, or tolerate any act of hazing, harassment, or humiliation in the Youth Development and Leadership Training process.
